    • All individuals listed as authors must have made significant intellectual contributions to the study and must have actively participated in the drafting or revising of the manuscript.
    • Contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship but have provided valuable assistance should be acknowledged appropriately in the manuscript.
  1.  Avoidance of Plagiarism and Fraud
    • Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been previously published elsewhere.
    • Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct are strictly prohibited and will result in rejection of the manuscript and potential sanctions against the responsible parties.
  2. Conflicts of Interest
    • Authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation or perception of their work.
    • Conflicts of interest may include financial interests, affiliations, or personal relationships that could bias the research or its outcomes.
  3.  Peer Review Process

Publication Malpractice

The City University International Journal of Computational Analysis (CUIJCA) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in scholarly publishing. As such, we have established the following publication malpractice statement to address any instances of misconduct and ensure the integrity of the journal's content:

Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct

    • Plagiarism, including the reproduction of others' work without proper citation or attribution, is strictly prohibited.
    • Authors are expected to ensure the originality of their submissions and properly cite sources when using the work of others.

Plagiarism, defined as the presentation of another author's language, text, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work, is strictly prohibited by the City University International Journal of Computational Analysis (CUIJCA). This includes instances of self-plagiarism, such as duplicate or redundant publication, text recycling, and salami slicing. CUIJCA adheres to the guidelines, standards, and policies established by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, regarding plagiarism.

To ensure the authenticity of submitted manuscripts, CUIJCA employs TURNITIN to check the similarity index of each submission. Manuscripts with a similarity index up to 50% are reviewed by the editorial team, and the similarity reports are conveyed to the authors. However, manuscripts exceeding a similarity index of 50% are rejected without further review or processing. According to the guidelines set forth by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, a similarity index of less than 20% is required for the authenticity of the work. If the report has a minimum similarity index of less than or equal to 19%, the benefit of the doubt may be given to the author. However, if any single source has a similarity index greater than or equal to 5%, it needs to be checked as a potential basis of plagiarism. In cases where the similarity is due to drawing upon the author(s) own work(s), these instances may be considered acceptable and not used to penalize the author(s), as long as it does not result in duplicate publication. Additionally, levels of EDS (Electronic Detection System) may be considered for further interpretation as per the EDS Manual.

Authors also have the option to submit their own similarity report as a supplementary file if they have already checked the manuscript using TURNITIN or a similar software. Any attempt of plagiarism is considered academic dishonesty and will be dealt with accordingly.

If plagiarism is discovered after the publication of an article, it will be retracted, and the authors may face permanent or temporary debarring from submitting to the journal. The parent institution of the authors may also be notified for further departmental proceedings against the author. In cases where plagiarism is detected prior to publication, the current article will be rejected, and the authors may be barred from submitting to the journal for one or more years.

CUIJCA is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity, and we take a zero-tolerance approach towards plagiarism. We urge all authors, reviewers, and stakeholders to adhere to these ethical principles to maintain the credibility and reputation of scholarly publishing.

           Data Fabrication and Falsification

    • Authors must accurately represent their research findings and avoid the fabrication or falsification of data.
    • Manipulating or altering data to misrepresent research outcomes is considered unethical and unacceptable.
  1.  Authorship and Contributorship
    • Authorship eligibility is contingent upon substantial contributions to the conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of the study.
    • All individuals listed as authors must have made significant intellectual contributions to the study and actively participated in drafting or revising the manuscript.
  2.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure Policy

Introduction

City University International Journal of Computational Analysis (CUIJCA) recognizes the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in research and manuscript creation. This policy outlines the guidelines for authors concerning the disclosure and responsible utilization of AI in submitted work.

AI-Assisted Technologies Disclosure

Authors must disclose the use of AI-assisted technologies, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), chatbots, image generators, or similar tools, during the production of their submissions.

Author Responsibility

Authors utilizing AI technologies are accountable for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their work. AI tools, including chatbots like ChatGPT, cannot be credited as authors as they lack the capacity to assume responsibility for these essential aspects of authorship.

Submission Requirements

Authors employing AI technologies should provide a detailed description of their utilization of such technology in both the cover letter and within the submitted manuscript. This disclosure should clarify the specific role of AI in the research and manuscript creation processes.

Prohibition of AI as an Author

AI tools, chatbots, and AI-assisted technologies should not be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship entails responsibility for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and originality, which AI lacks.

Review and Editing by Humans

Authors using AI are responsible for thoroughly reviewing and editing the content generated by AI. While AI technologies can produce authoritative content, it is essential for human authors to correct and refine the material, as it may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or biases.

Plagiarism Check and Attribution

Authors must confirm that their paper contains no instances of plagiarism, including text and images generated by AI. Human authors must ensure proper attribution of all quoted material, providing complete citations for any content generated with AI assistance.

Attribution in Submitted Material

All content, including text and images produced with AI assistance, must be appropriately attributed. Authors should ensure that readers can easily distinguish between human-generated content and content generated with AI assistance.

Compliance and Accountability

Authors are expected to adhere to this policy to uphold the ethical use of AI in research and manuscript creation. Failure to comply may result in editorial actions, such as rejection of the submission.

Review and Updates

This policy will undergo periodic review to remain consistent with evolving ethical standards and technological advancements. Updates will be communicated, and authors are encouraged to stay informed about the latest requirements.
